This project took place on 8.5 acres in Wheatfield, Indiana. The Keeley team was responsible for all civil and foundation construction. The team began by importing of 50,000 CY of fill material to raise the BESS pad to the proposed elevation. Once the material was compacted and in place, the team began driving 170 W6x20 H-Pile and 680 W8x31 H-Pile with extremely tight tolerances. Keeley successfully completed these phases of the project, even having gone through multiple design changes. Once all pile was driven, Keeley had to install all pile to the correct elevation and test nine of the pile to ensure that it met the required bearing capacity. Following installation of foundations, Keeley had to coordinate with surrounding contractors to rock the entire site. Throughout this project, the buy-in from the craftspeople onsite to meet production and the coordination with the subcontractors onsite exceeded all expectations. The day-to-day coordination with subcontractors, partners, and vendors proved to be a challenge at times, but Keeley build strong relationships with everyone on the job and ensured a seamless process. Due to thorough planning and a dedication to providing customer-centric, innovative solutions, the team was prepared to adapt on a moment’s notice to any issue that arose, proving to be a key factor in the success of this project.
