Keeley Building, a leader in fostering connections across industries, was entrusted by a national pet care brand to renovate and expand their office building in Mattoon, IL. Over 17 months, the team transformed the space to reflect the Owner's mission, executing the project in phases to ensure quality, safety, and minimal disruption. Phase one focused on the cafeteria and breakroom, phase two on locker rooms, and phase three on the main entry, office space, and conference rooms. The expansion added 2,000 SF, featuring offices, training rooms, locker storage, first aid rooms, and a workout space. Challenges, including delays in connecting permanent power and misaligned roof joints, were met with innovative solutions, including support from Keeley’s Internal Quality Team, ensuring the project stayed on track. Keeley self-performed demo and carpentry while leveraging the Power of One, with Keeley Civil completing storm sewer and concrete work and Keeley Industrial setting structural steel. This collaborative approach provided flexibility, controlled the schedule, and allowed for seamless adjustments without change orders, resulting in a successful, high-quality project.
